Convenience You Get With Files To DVD Transfer

Thursday, June 4th, 2009
How much does it take to convince people to have their files, videos, pictures, important documents and the likes transferred digitally?

Files are important. Yes, they are. Since they are important, we have to make sure that they are kept properly in a kind of safe-keeping that is damage-free and is full-proof. Since it is important, it would be very efficient if they can be reproduced fast and easy. All of these your can guarantee to get if you have your files converted to digital. Digital transfer of files can make your life easier and give you more time and space to maximize your work efficiency.

Damage Free Safe Keeping

Since your files will be kept in a computer or in a hard drive, in case of emergencies, you can easily bring ALL your important documents with you. Imagine running in and out for shelves of folders in case of fire, or carrying albums of pictures and boxes of video tapes when the basement gets flooded. When you transfer your files digitally, you do not have to worry how far your adrenal rush will take you. In these kinds of emergencies, you just take your computer or the hard disks where your files are kept (which are more or less as big and as heavy as a book) and you just walk away.

Easy Reproduction and Distribution

What usually happens when somebody asks for a file or an album of photographs or a film in a video tape? For files, you still have to look for them and make sure they are clear enough to be photocopied. For pictures, you still have to have them developed. With films, it;s either you give your own copy or you have to go to video store and have your video copied. And, if the recipient of the file, pictures or video lives far (in the other coast or other continent), you still have to send it as a package and wait for days before you can confirm that it has properly reached its recipient. You do not need to go through these tedious tasks just to have a file reproduced and distributed. Together with the Internet, digital technology has made your lives much easier. What you do is you just copy a file and, if the recipient is near, you just copy it in a disk, or if the recipient lives far, you just send the file through the Internet.

Minimize Cost

You do not need to have a new room made or new sets of shelves bought. All you need is an additional computer or memory and have all the digital files kept there for safe-keeping. And if you really want to make sure that your files won’t be lost, have tow or more computers/hard disks to keep your back-up files. That way, no matter what happens, you will never have to worry about your files being lost of whatsoever. In fact, aside from this option, you can also ask computer experts if you can have more secure ways of keeping files.

Digital Photo: Picture Enhancement

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009
Among others, one thing that could ruin one’s day is a damaged photograph. How disheartening it is to discover one day that the pictures that you have treasured a lot and have kept for so long to remind you of the good old days have been damaged. The smiles and poses of the people that should warm your heart whenever you see them are now almost gone to oblivion.

One big problem with films and pictures is that you can never tell how secure your safe keeping is. They are very much prone to different kinds of hazards that spell doom to your collection. They might get damaged because of water spills or out of decay. How you wish you could bring them back to how they were when they were still new. IF only it is possible.

Another big problem about photographs is when you get results that never equal the anticipation and preparation you felt and did when you had the picture taken. Like when you had your graduation photo taken. You prepared so much only to find out that the lighting was not good. Or, when the day you had your prom picture taken, after days of dieting, you suddenly get this rashes that covers up your face. So much for memories that you would want to enjoy in the future. How you wish you are capable of making revisions in your pictures. IF only it is possible.

Maybe, with the your dusty pictures and films, all of these IF’s are but wishful thinking. However, if you do transfer your photos to digital, then you can do all of these things and much, much more.

Converting old photos to digital gives you the chance of being able to repair whatever damages that time and carelessness have brought upon your pictures. With the advent of technology, programs are already available that could enhance the quality of your pictures by restoring them to how they look like the very day that you had them developed and make adjustments to pictures that were taken on uneventful circumstances. You can do the enhancement and repair on your own or you could ask a professional to do the editing of pictures for you. These of course requires you to have your pictures transferred to digital because, quite obviously, you can’t do this with your films and pictures.

Aside from the chance of being able to enhance and restore damaged pictures, when you transfer photos to digital, you also improve your means of safe-keeping. You do not have to worry about your film or pictures getting wet or, worse, burnt. As long as you have a reliable computer or hard disk, you are always sure that your memories are safe. Also, another thing that makes transferring your pictures digitally very appealing because it offers convenience when you have your photos redistributed and duplicated. With your computer, some file saving devices or the Internet, you do not have to develop pictures and send them in a package. You just upload them and send them through the Internet or just copy them and save them in a disk, a flash drive or a hard disk.

How Transferring Files To Digital Is Important

Friday, May 15th, 2009
Even though we are already in this world of computers and digital advancements, still a lot of people are reluctant to convert files digitally. Especially among big businesses that have a lot of paperwork to manage, there are some who still stick to the old ways - folders and folders of paper in piles of boxes or endless rows of file cabinets sorted in alphabetical or numerical sorting.

This stubbornness to go with the flow of time could lead to more complexities amidst these old schoolers claiming that the old way is the best way and is more efficient for them. They, unfortunately, do not know how converting files to digital would work wonders on their file management.

Easy access

How does one person look for a file made 5 years ago about a loan done by an employee in a certain department? With paper and all, you still have to go to the file room, find the box or file cabinet where the loans are, look of the type of loan, then look for the department name and then finally the name of the employee. Well, such tedious task that requires much time and effort would have been acceptable 20 years ago - but with all the people rushing and all the piled work load, we simply do not have the luxury of time any more to do the searching or wait for the searching to end. With digital conversion, files are way easier to access. You just click a folder here, a folder there and look for a name and, (drum roll), the file that you want is already there. Let us see if you can do that with boxes and file cabinets.

Easy storage

Instead of big rooms that should expand every year because of the continuous piling of paper work and rows and rows of file cabinets (both of which would amount to A LOT!), you only use a DVD, CD, USB, hard disk or whatever you have (all of which would not occupy a hole room) to store all the date you need once you transfer your files to digital. Instead of having to expand rooms once you run out of space, all you need to do is buy DVD, CD, USB, hard disk or whatever you like with the same space capacity or a higher one and storage upgrade is done.

Much trust-worthy safe keeping

Paper, folders and file cabinets - they are all vulnerable to the wear and tear that things undergo. But with all your files converted to digital, all you need to worry is having as many back-up copies as you can in order to have extra copies whenever the one that you are using gets destroyed. Try doing that with paper!

Faster duplication or file transfer

Need to have your own copy of a file or a co-worker in another country needs to have a copy of a file that you have? Back in the old days, what people did was they photocopied/reprinted/handwritten the files that you needed and have them sent through mail or packages. How many days did it take and how much money was spent for this kind of file transfer/duplication - not to mention the effort that you have to put to accomplish the task. With files transferred to digital, all you need is another click here and there and you are done. It;s much cheaper and much faster.

All of these conveniences apply whether we are talking about small scale of big scale businesses. It even applies for personal uses like the simple storage of photos, videos and the likes. Yes, advancements in technology might be scary for a lot of people because they are new, thus unpredictable. However, these advancements in technology, such as the availability of methods to transfer whatever files we have into digital, were meant to happen in order to make our lives much easier and for us to cope with the changing of times.

Cut Off Expenses By Converting To Digital

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009
A lot of people do not find file transfer to digital as an appealing option to improve their methods of safe keeping. They think that converting files to digital would require them to spend a lot of money in the conversion itself and they think that the really do not need it anyway. Those notions are entirely not true, because by transferring files to digital, may it be photos, videos or any other form of documents, you get to save more.

Save on storage space

You will continuously accumulate files - pictures, videos and documents. And this will also lead you to expanding your storage space and giving more room to your files. You will buy file cabinets, more boxes, albums and the likes. But once you have your files in digital, you do not need to put them in these bulky containers. In fact, you won’t need any of them anymore. All you need is a device where you could save the files and enough back up files for them. Total the amount of money you spend on cabinets, albums, file cabinets and room expansions and compare that one with what you are going to spend when you will have your files converted to digital.

Save on file transfer expenses

How do we usually send pictures, videos and documents to people the old school way? We send them through mail, packages, etc. How long do they usually take? The fastest I know is a day or two - and they put an extra charge on express. The longest, it depends, and there is even a risk that your file could be lost somewhere for whatever conceivable reason there is. How much does it cost to send a package? It depends. The heavier and bulkier, the more expensive it is. What if you intend to share an album of memories of your 65 year old grad mother? Imagine how big would that file be? Then, because you wanted to save, you would not be able to send all the pictures - you just pick enough pictures that would fit your budget for sending a package. Imagine how many pictures you would miss to send. But once your files are already in digital and you already have an Internet connection, you can already send all the pictures they want including videos and even important documents, cutting the cost to zero!

Yes, the conversion process might be expensive - you need to buy your own equipment that would convert the files to digital or you will have a digital converting company to manage your files. However, think of its effect in the long run. You won’t worry about having to find a bigger room to keep all of your boxes and cabinets. You do not have to buy file cabinets, albums and boxes anymore when you have new pictures, videos or documents. All you need to have is the saving device of your choice (cd, dvd, usb, hard disk, among others) and enough memory space in them to save all of the files you have and will have in the future.

Convert Old Films To Digital

Sunday, April 19th, 2009
Anybody has his or her own classic movie (or movies) favorite. For years, a lot of people may have been collecting the movies that they love and have been watching them every now and then if the urge of reminiscing comes. Movies, needless to say, are part of everyone’s lives. Even the most anti-social type of person has his or her own movie favorite. The same with movies, a lot of people also have their own collection of home-made videos that they have made and collected for years ever since taking videos has been invented. From the the VHS, VHS-C, SVHS, Hi8, regular, even Betamax, as long as you can use it to store precious memories, everybody has it.

However, as times is changing, so is technology. As technology changes, new equipment become more efficient and handy. The same applies for the videos that we have and the kind of storing that we use. Nowadays, digital technology is the hype, not because it is the trend but because it answers people’s problems with regards and not limited to memory space, accessibility, storage, durability and quality enhancement. With these people are now leaning to transfer videos to digital.

Most of the videos that we have in our storage are in the VHS format - your aunt’s wedding, Jane’s birthday, and even your first slumber party! Converting VHS files to DVD can be done in a lot of ways. Your method of choice would strongly depend on the time you need for conversion (you might want to use it a day or two from now) and whether or not you might still want to edit it (add some features and stuffs).

If you do not have much time to do the conversion and you do not want want to be bothered by a lot of intricacies, just connect your VHS Video Camera Recorder to a DVD recorder and create a copy of the video in real time. The catch for this efficient and fast-paced conversion is that it does not give you much room to edit the video.

Some people use an analog-to-DV-converter. Among the methods, this consumes the most time, in as much as long hours of work for an hour length of video. However, even if it takes up a lot of time, it also gives you a lot of flexibility in editing the video. So, you can edit no matter how you want it to look like.

Another option and which most people usually use is seeking the help of professionals to convert VHS to digital. The time allotted for this would still depend on the method that the person you are going to hire is using. However, what makes this option really enticing is, as far as service-oriented businesses are concerned, you do not have to put effort on doing the converting AND you are assured that you are going to have a good quality conversion (if not, as a paying customer, you can always ask to redo it until you are satisfied).
